Job Purpose

To identify new business opportunities, forecast, plan, and develop business while maintaining client relationships, and working collaboratively with internal teams to achieve business goals.

2 Duties:

General Duties

  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and market trends. Analyze competitors and industry trends to inform strategic planning.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to set business development goals and objectives. Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve company objectives and growth targets.
  • Sales and Business Development: Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve sales targets and revenue goals. Identify and engage potential clients through networking, cold calling, and attending industry events.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients. Address client needs and concerns to ensure satisfaction and retention.
  • Team Collaboration: Build and manage a team of sales personnel. Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to align business development efforts with company goals.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of business development activities, client interactions, and sales progress. Prepare regular reports on business development performance and present findings to management.
  • Be available to travel for business events and duties.
  • Perform administrative and ad hoc duties.

    3Requirements:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role.
    • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
    • English speaker, and relevant languages for the region such as French and Arabic.
    • Knowledge of the agriculture business in the specific regions of Ghana/ Africa.
    • Ability to travel.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.

    4Skills:

    • Strong understanding of market dynamics and industry trends.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
    • Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships and rapport.
    • Strategic thinking, self-starter, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    5Departmental Relations:

    • Maintains contact with all departments.

    6External Relations:

    • Maintains contact with clients and potential clients.
    • Maintains contact with customers.

    7Responsibility for Assets:

    • Financial assets, marketing assets, brand reputation.

    8Salary:

    • GHC 5,000 – GHC 7,000 – Base of GHC 4,000 + commissions.
